DAMAC\u2019s social responsibility arm, headed by DAMAC Chairman Hussain Sajwani, is committed to advancing education and learning as its primary CSR objective. It assesses gaps in learning, and unmet vocational skill needs within communities. It supports these gaps with initiatives that can improve economic circumstances, promote employment, and create uplift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To this end, we collaborated with the Knowledge Fund Establishment to support the Dubai Schools project. The DAMAC Group will provide scholarships worth AED 20 million to go towards Emirati students\u2019 tuition fees for a period of five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The scholarship funding supports Dubai Schools\u2019 objectives, which include providing state-of-the-art education to help the next generation of students keep pace with the evolving requirements of the job market. Further, it will support Dubai\u2019s efforts to harness advanced science and technological breakthroughs to create a world-class education ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UAE is ushering in a new era of development and growth, with a bullet proof Centennial 2071 plan that keeps the future generation at the heart of its priorities. As such, our leaders are working hard to ensure that our youth have the tools they need to adapt, learn and thrive in a rapidly changing word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collective vision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The UAE of today continues to reap the benefits of the solid foundation of modern development across all sectors set by the founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This strong foundation has enabled the UAE to successfully position itself as a futuristic society. Therefore, preparing our youth for this future is integral to achieving this. It is inspiring to see the unwavering collective vision and determination of all kinds of societal players to contribute towards the realization of this vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anchored in the country\u2019s heritage, culture, and values, and operating in a thriving economic powerhouse, the public and private sector have long been a key pillar of Dubai\u2019s human, social and economic development. We take pride at DAMAC in our contribution to empowering the youth of today to face the challenges of the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are pleased to be part of the Dubai Schools project to support Emirati students and help them acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to keep pace with our prosperous economic path and empower them with knowledge to enrich their scientific lives and participate in opening new horizons and global opportunities for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Encouraging environment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n However, it is imperative to note that the critical path to success goes beyond scholarship support. We need to set up an encouraging environment that adopts a \u201ccan-do\u201d attitude amongst our youth. This includes a powerful desire to learn, and encouraging curiosity, imagination, and creativity, in order to access the endless opportunities that lie ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is where guiding the future generation becomes the cornerstone of success; capitalizing on previous experiences, raising awareness on the future challenges, needs and requirements, and highlighting the important role education plays in achieving a competitive future economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Investing in a future-focused educational system will enable the country to develop the talents of future generations and build their capabilities to serve the nation. However, equally important is a system that reinforces national identity and instills ethical values in the leaders of tomorrow. These are some of the key pillars, in fact, of the Dubai Schools Project, and I am so happy to be contributing to this worthwhile initiative.
